Our belated valentine’s

So, my FIANCE (hahaha) came home on Saturday night, & I’d decided to surprise him at the airport! :D He was scheduled to touch down at 10.22pm, which is really late! (Hesitated a little though, cause it felt a bit silly since I don’t even drive and we’d just be cabbing back together. But I thought it’d be nice to have someone waiting for him so I still went!)

The previous time I picked him up after his Sydney trip, I mixed up the Terminals and went to T1, only to realise that SQ flights don’t even land at T1! By then his plane had already landed, so I had to run all the way to T3 and pray that he hasn’t left, cause it was a surprise! So this time, I left earlier instead, and ended up being an hour early!

Anyway, its always better to be earlier than late, so I people-watched for an hour. Watched people coming out n families running over to give them hugs, while I anticipated my turn. :) This time though, I controlled myself not to spam him texts and whatnot, and just prayed that I wouldn’t miss him. (& have him zoom off in a cab home)

The surge of excitement when I got this message!! Then comes the heightened level of anticipation as I watch closely for him to appear!

&….. I managed to surprise him!!!! :D The feeling of watching him wait for his baggage, walk out, & then stop him for my hug n kiss… Happiest ever. He acted all cool and said “Ah, I totally knew you’d be here.” But later admitted that he suspected, but concluded that since I wasn’t crazy texting him, I didn’t go!

Its these little things that really brighten up my life. :D & he bought me (expensive) handmade earrings from Sydney!!! I’m (of course) the happiest ever ‘cus it’s a gift frm him, but its so expensive!!!!! :( Not by the hundreds type of expensive, but the price doesn’t exactly justify the materials I think. Just tt its handmade. :/ Not complaining though, what more can I ask for? :D

& on Sunday afternoon, we headed out to Nex cus he had to go to the bank. & he suggested we have our Valentine’s meal! I wasn’t expecting that!

We ate at Little Fish Shop. It’s the place with $29.90 Boston Lobsters on Mondays!

Me being me, I’d take photos of anything and everything. So here’s a photo of the butter we asked for…. :P

After taking a photo of tt, the bf said “win liao lor, butter you also take” Hahah. xD

We had 3 baskets of bread before our food came. Felt a bit embarrassed asking for so much bread but whatever, we were hungry!

(Apparently) very yummy mekajiki (w a huge slab of wasabi)

Add-on butter garlic herb rice (or sth like that) for $2.90 cus its rly quite nice! Heart-shaped (by accident) too!

& finally, our main course. We both ordered Barramundi fish, ‘cause we both think that’s the nicest. (could choose btw Salmon and Barramundi for the set lunch)

This is mine, pan-seared. (We both agree that this is still the best way to have it)

& his char-grilled. Hehehe ‘cus I tried pan-seared before & love it, but still wanted try the char grilled… So he sacrificed n ordered that. Wasn’t as nice though. xD

& my rocky mountain dessert! The waiter described it as “like kit kat”, so we were both expecting just a bar of chocolate thing.

But the presentation so nice!!!!

Strawberries v fresh! But I think the dessert itself was too sweet n had to force myself to finish 2 bars haha.

So it wasn’t really an official celebration, but I’m so happy tt we still had a proper “valentine’s day meal”! Saved $$ too cus no premium charges to eat it tt day!

ps; I want a Baby-G!!! *stares at the catalogue* Lemming for one for quite some time already, just haven’t found the opportunity to buy one!

Happy Valentine’s!!

So. Its Valentine’s day again.

We (Adrian and I) don’t really celebrate Valentine’s. We don’t even exchange gifts. Usually we settle for just a card and maybe a dinner. :) But anyway, it’s the 3rd valentine’s we’re celebrating together already! :D

The week before & during Valentine’s this year we won’t be spending much time together though. ‘cos he’s flying around as usual. :( (He’s in Vietnam as I type this now) But its okay, cause I’ll be seeing him earlier (6+) tomorrow, and he’d still in SG on the 14th!

Well, this year its slightly different. No, not that we’re gonna have some big celebration. Its still going to be our simple dinner + no presents. But…

This year we’re engaged. :) So its as Fiance and Fiancee status, for the first time.

It happened last year on the 7th of December. I never broadcast it, though. I remember, the first (and only) person I told was Jessica. Heh, excitedly texting her about it just after he’d proposed.

He picked me up from school, but reached an hour and a half late. So I was pretty much hopping mad when he finally appeared. & then he said he wanted to go to Botanic Gardens. Which made me even madder ‘cos I was tired from school, (& suffering from cramps I think), & I didn’t have my camera with me!

We went anyway, despite my protestations.

I shan’t go into the details here, but he proposed to me there. It wasn’t a grand affair, no friends nor family present. But he’d surprised me, and we were both happy. That’s what matters, right?

We’re not going to get married yet, though. But we’ve got a rough gauge on when. I guess we’ll iron out the other stuff when I’m done with school. So we’ll stay “engaged” for the time being.

I’ve heard people telling me that I’d regret it by committing into this relationship while I’m still so young, maybe I should wait a few more years, etc. But this feels so different, from whatever’s been before. This feels real. :) & I believe that we’d work out.

We’re still the same couple we used to be, though.

& we still lie in bed all day most times, just enjoying each other’s company.

(iPhone pictures now look so grainy and mediocre in comparison to my camera shots. :( *makes a mental note to use the camera more often instead*)

He surprised me on how he’d actually did everything that I’d wanted- well, almost- but that’s enough.) I think, I’m really blessed to have him as my boyfriend, and now my fiance. I love him so much I could shout so loud! :D

So yup, that’s it. When you see me with a ring on my fourth finger, don’t be so surprised anymore. :) I’ve gotten a huge range of reactions from friends who notice the ring. From people who ask, and just say “oh, okay”, to people who question my other friends like “omg she’s wearing a ring!!!” Heh.

Okay I am here because I suddenly realised that I’ve got a test tomorrow that I haven’t prepared for, and I don’t want to study. I’m so unmotivated. Help!!!

So here’s some photos from New Year’s 2012.

Yes, seriously overdue.

& its been so long I cannot remember what we did on that day already. :/ (Okay I eventually recalled but its so mundane. Home then Svc then countdown & then home)

So. I wore a dress. Its been so long since I last made an attempt to dress up. (This isn’t really dressing up either, but it’s a huge improvement from my usual shorts + tank) Since I’ve gotten together w Adrian (2 years ago), he’s declared that I look great in my shorts + tank, so its been my staple. (I have so many cotton on tank tops now!) I’m also practically always barefaced. Although this is one thing that the bf doesn’t really like, sometimes (make that most times) I just can’t be bothered to put on make up. :/

We bummed around Marina Square after service. (Svc ended at 7plus, so we had lotsa time to walk around before meeting my parents..) Had dinner at Hans, (somewhere I don’t have a good impression of cus I tried it once n I hated it) & then walked around aimlessly.

& took photos w Christmas deco hehe.

& then walked over to bf’s office, & then to NTUC building (which was next door).

& then when we reached NTUC building, I was slightly grumpy, cause I’d realised that our view would be blocked by this building in front. & having to wait hours to watch the fireworks and having it only going to be partially shown made me grumpy n frustrated :( But at least I had bf sitting next to me, so it wasn’t all that bad. :D

I took tons of photos, videos even. But here’s just one ‘cos I realise how boring it is. (Plus all the fireworks cut into half cus of the building *frowns*)

But I’m happy that I ushered in the new year w my bf n my parents! Too bad my brother wasn’t there but its still good. :)

& here I am, at the end of my blog post, STILL, struggling to find something to do, apart from studying. How to grad like that, you tell me?

Happy CNY!

I can still say that, right? Its only day 5.

So here’s an update ‘cause Jessica complained about my zoo post. Not nice meh?

So anyway! My CNY is boring, as always. (But I’m still happy anyways) I visit my granny’s, followed by my aunt’s, & we’re done for the year.

We baked pineapple tarts though. Bought a new oven just in time for that. :) I’ve got my fear of eggs so after handling so much eggs, I couldn’t convince myself to try the pineapple tarts :( Especially with the eggy glaze on top. *shudders* Oh yea, I cracked eggs for the first time in my life. With gloves on, but still! It was horribly gross though. :/

My Day 1 outfit. This year, I was a little more broke than I was previously, so I decided to just get 1 new outfit. (bought 2 in the end though. Heh)

This was me popping by the bf’s place early in the morning of 初一, before going over to granny’s!

Brought my favourite polaroid camera out to snap photos w my cousins! :D But I reached granny’s as they were about to leave so we only managed to take a few shots :(

Went over to bf’s place again after granny’s for dinner! Here’s the spread that Matthew prepared. :D

& then my eldest brother came to visit with his 2 kids! Ran home after dinner to meet them just as they were leaving… Here’s a photo of my family anyway (w/o Justin though) :D

& then on the 2nd day of CNY, I went out w the bf to River Hongbao! A bit fail cause we went in the afternoon. (‘cus I was going over to my aunt’s in the evening) So no photos of the place cause its not nice in the day.

Made this photo supaaa dark n the effect is so pretty! Hahah, maybe its just me.

On the 3rd day of CNY, I went to school. & school was closed. Yup, I did it again – I went to school by mistake. :( I am such a sotong.

On the 4th day of CNY, I went to school. For classes though, this time. & then met SJM (finally!!!) for dinner. It was nice, meeting up with the girls again aft so long. Hope we’ll be able to meet again before RF & I get busy with exam preparation!

Oh, bumped into Lorraine and Namira at Nex as we were headed home! Its been really really REAAAAAALLY long since we last met. :O I’d tried organising a gathering once, but it never happened. Its really hard to plan one since everyone is busy with their own stuff & there’s so many of us. But I kinda hope someone will manage to successfully organise a catch up gathering for us. Heh.

Okay, & that pretty much sums up my CNY thus far.

Zooooo!

Went to the zoo with my favourite boy on 14th Dec. (Photo taken so so nicely by a tourist!)

Had our photographs taken at the entrance. Photo turned out so nice I almost bought the photo from the zoo. But it cost $30-40 if I didn’t remember wrongly. :( So we decided it wasn’t worth it since we already have a similar shot in my cam.

We’ve always talked about going to the zoo, but never actually went. So during his leave we decided to set a day aside for our zoo excursion! Exploring places is just so much more fun when its with him. We fool around, take random photos, & just enjoy each other’s company.

We’ve been exploring Singapore’s tourist attractions since 2 years ago when we first started dating. We’ve visited Sentosa, Night Safari, and even Singapore museum. All we’re short of now is Jurong bird park! But its so so far away we always end up deciding not to go. (But I’m sure we’ll go some day.)

So anyway, I’ve visited the zoo quite a number of times in my life, and this time there’s this little hut/house thing that’s new. Its there probably to show kids nowadays how people used to live in the past.

Which I later saw (not this guy though) being fed to a snake. (They killed it beforehand but it was still horrible to watch) The snake wasn’t interested though so he didn’t eat it while we were watching, luckily.

Goats fighting. They’re perpetually fighting! While we were there, they just fought n fought n fought. Not just these 2, the other goats around were always knocking their horns together. Super loud when they collide!

& there’s squirrels now!! I’m pretty sure they weren’t here before! Sooooo cute! With their bushy tails!

& I think turtles (or tortoise whtv) are v cute!!! This big guy here just didn’t move throughout the time we were there. Hahah okay maybe its just me but, not cute meh??

& this furry dude! He’s just sitting there minding his own business while me (& other girls) went up to snap photos w him. I didn’t dare to touch him though, so I just stood close to him. It felt super near alr but I look so far away frm him here. :(

RF’s 21st

This is long overdue but I’ll just fit it in here. 2011 was the year of 21st birthdays for me, so here’s the last birthday party of 2011 that I’d attended. :D

Ok I have so much backlog of photos, I didn’t really want to bring my Christmas photos forward. But I figured I’d better do it before 2011 is over. Haha. So here. (& I procrastinated so much with my post half done, it is now 2012 already….)

This year’s Christmas was spent rather simply with the boyfriend. :)

A week before Christmas, we attended Candlelight service. & it was so beautiful my breath was taken away. So here’s some photos.

As the flame slowly travelled from one candle to the other.. (At this point, cus bf told me its gna be very pretty, I was thinking.. Ok lah quite pretty but nth much….)

& then it spread… & I’m like o_o this is really quite beautiful. (Really should have taken a video instead of just these photos. But by the time I thought abt it, it was almost our turn to light our candles..)

& I got my candle lit! & omg it was so beautiful by this time. my face was probably like .

This photo really doesn’t do it justice. The convention hall was lit up by candlelight alone.

& then I got a free CD (Songs are supa nice I think) cause I’d managed to finish the new testament. But honestly… I didn’t exactly digest what I read, so I’d have to read it again. But its always like that, no? Is it only me that need to read stuff more than once to rly understand it? Hahahah.

I’m really thankful that I didn’t miss this! :D

& then saw a v chio bmw, so bf posed w it. Lol.

So that was the week before Christmas. :)

On Christmas eve, I went down to Claudia n Matthew’s place for dinner. (Tgthr w the bf n his fam of course) This time armed with my polaroid camera + my GF3!

Trish’s 21st birthday.

Okay, this happened at the beginning of the mth, but since her b’day is tomorrow, I shall do up the post now! :)

Her party was an ultra glam one on a YACHT!!! C’mon, which other 21 year old would have a yacht party! :D

It was really cool, the whole idea of it all. But what we didn’t (forgot to) prepare for was that yacht = boat = water = seasick. So yup. Ten minutes on, I got sea sick. & so did the other girls on board. :( But thankfully it wasn’t that bad and we all survived. Hahah.

Went together w the bf! & this is my first time on a yacht! Was super excited hahaha.

A RAINBOW!!!!! I didn’t even see it on the day itself!! Thank God for the pretty rainbow, my wonderful bf who captured this & my awesome camera that saved this for me! It’s a nice surprise as I’m editing through the photos!

Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Okay, originally I’d typed out an “Our Story” post & wanted to post it today. But on 2nd thought, its too detailed n private, so I shall save it for another day, or maybe never. xD

Anyway! 2 awesome years have passed since our first date. We never really had an “official get-together date”, so we used the date of our first date instead. (Haha tongue twister.)

These 2 years have really been fabulous. We shared so much laughter n tears n hugs n kisses. & its officially the longest consecutive relationship that I’ve ever had. (Breakup + patch doesn’t count as a consecutive r/s lol) & I’m really thankful that we’ve never had an argument so huge that we’d suggest breaking up.

‘cause of you, Christmas takes up a new meaning for me.

7th Dec: Nicest flowers in the entire universe. (v expensive ‘cos he has no experience in buying flowers, but that just makes it all the more special.)

& the prettiest Hello Kitty toy. (now kept in a ziploc bag to make sure she doesn’t get dusty/dirty)

I love you. These 2 years have been awesome, & everyday I simply look forward to meeting you. Its something very simple- just walking over to chill at your place, but that’s always the highlight of my day. I embrace our differences and its exactly those differences that make our relationship so special to me. :) Adrian Quek Weizhong, I love you. & I can’t wait for our dinner date tomorrow. I know its not going to be something fanciful or lavish. But we’re simple like that & we both love it this way. :)

Working for sitex 2011.

Hahahahaha its been so long I‘ve almost forgotten that I did work for Sitex. It was my first time working for an IT show (rf’s first too!) & I’d say it was quite a good experience! But I think it only felt like a good experience ‘cos I did relatively well in my sales. Haha, if I’d did badly I’d probably think that it sucks ttm n I wouldn’t ever wna do it again.

Me + rf’s wallpaper for the 4 days… :D

Managed to sell a total of 61 laptops/ computers during the 4 days of Sitex, I think I did wonderful for a first timer. :) But I think it really depends on your luck. Its almost nothing to do with your selling skills. ‘cos when people buy, half the time they already want to buy it in the first place. They just need more information n a little nudging (some a little more than others) & they’re sold.

Ohwell. It was fun, but stressful at the same time. You feel that people are stealing your customers, and people accuse you of stealing theirs. Its so competitive and you really need to rely on your customers coming back to look for you. Have to wait for the pay to come in before I can decide if it was worth the stress n tiredness. Haha.

The other part timers there were all super young! So me n Rf were like the oldies :( their age ranged from 15-17! & there we were, 21 year old oldies.

But anyhow, it was a good experience! & all the unhappiness, all the “you steal my customer” rubbish, ends as IT show ended.

I fell horribly sick after the IT show though, not sure if there’s any connection between the two. Maybe its ‘cos I couldn’t rest for the 4 days of IT show + another 3 days of school. So my body crumbled n I had fever, flu, and cough rotating. I still have some of that cough left, although its been almost a month already……. :/

I’m glad that I went for it though, although the pay might not be very high. It was awesome working with a sister yet again! :D

Yes this is a really short entry. Bf’s having his leave now (almost ended alr lol) since last Mon! So, we’ve been spending so so much time together. :D Its been awesome. I think I’d have withdrawal when he goes back to work n I only get to see him at night. :(

& we’re watching Mission Impossible tmr! I think its been really really long since I last caught a movie in the cinema with him! Looking forward to it. :) Goodnight everyone! Waking up for prata tmr before going for movie! Its gna be an awesome day, again. :D

2011, you flew by.

If I slow down, stop n think, then I’ll get reminded of the fact that time does fly.

Its Dec. Exams will be in May. Again. I thought I’d just gone through that. Its gna be here again? *sigh* Such is reality.

& *blink blink* almost 2 years w the bf alr! My longest (consecutive) relationship evaaaaaa. Haha. Yes I know v short but still! :D

Found a wall at SOTA & my model is my handsome AQ yet again hehehe. xD

---Short random fact:

Something I found out the other day while chatting with my mom. I think I’m generally a pretty nice person. In the beginning. I think I’m pretty nice to everyone (well unless you don’t give me a good first impression). But what I hate the most, is to feel used. To feel that I’m being taken for granted. Yup, I really hate that.

& I can be pretty mean when I’m annoyed. & when I feel like I’ve been made use of, I’ve been taken for granted, I get really really bitter. & its almost impossible for me to remove you from my blacklist. Though you may not be making use of me anymore, though you may not be taking me for granted anymore, what has happened, has already, and I just can’t get over it. This is one thing about me: I find it really hard to forgive and forget. I don’t forgive, and neither do I forget.

I’m pretty slow in discovering such things. :/ Which is why, when I finally do realise, I feel like a complete dumbass and it makes me so upset! :( So if you’ve been taking me for granted, and one day you find me distancing myself, please back off. ‘cos its gna be really hard to get me back as your genuine friend.

Went for lunch at Hey Hey hotpot on Sunday, 13th Nov. (yes I am so backdated I know)

Can’t really remember why we did but anyway! It was good!! Brought dear GF3 out for a walk too. xD

We bought this set! Which was so yummy!!!!! Hahaha. If you know me, I’m not a huge fan of steamboat. :/ Ok edit. The bf says he felt weird aft eating the hot pot (I cnt remember him telling me that leh!!!) so maybe its not tt gd afterall. Haha, the only thing I remember is the soup being rly nice. Anything else… forgotten. Heh.

& THIS IS THE STAR. The soup was so flavourful (a bit salty but that makes it nice too) n yummy! Not like the normal steamboat soup at all!

Hello GF3!

Like I said in my prev post…. I’ve got a new camera!!!

Wasn’t exactly a planned buy… Only decided after walking around in Funan still never really having the intention to spend that ~1000 bucks! We spent like, 6 hours there. Was so worn out after buying her!

I’ve been lusting for a cam like that since ages ago. From the LX3 to the LX5 to the GF2 and finally the GF3! So with the support of my bf, I (we) bought me a new camera! (& therefore cleaned out my bank account again. :( I told my bf that I think I could last half a year without spending money. Haha. But I realise I need to spend on stuff like food n transport(!!!) So, I’m just getting more n more broke as everyday goes by. Not to mention tt I have 2 more 21st parties to attend…… )

Anyway! I bought her from John 3:16 (@ Funan, Level 5) w Matthew’s recommendation.. & Samuel (the guy attending to us) kept telling me that I should get the EP3 instead of my GF3! I did waver a little.. But I decided to stick to my original lust!

Initially wanted to get it in pink. But after a long time of staring at the pink cam, I realised I couldn’t like it! The colour just didn’t appeal to me. :( Thought the brown looked v nice though brown has never really been a colour I’d love! So I bought her in brown & I‘m so happy w her! Hahah xD

Friendship matters a lot to me, & I’m very thankful that I’ve got a few friends that are so close to my heart. :) I wouldn’t want to lose them, ever.

Had a steamboat session w SJM (one of the closest people to me) quite a while ago. Heh.

& then we made Jolynn’s present. :)

Us @ Uniqlo where she convinced me not to buy my maomao (furry) jacket. The jacket that I was craving for, for the whole year!!

This was me last dec with the maomao jacket I didn’t buy!! Haha, tried it on again this year, & I felt like I was gonna get a heat stroke if I continue wearing it. So, yup! Saved some money & didn’t get it! Heh.

Got me a new camera yesterday. :D Still trying out the features & figuring out how to use it though. more pics next time!

Jolynn’s 21st!

Attended Jolynn’s 21st birthday party on Saturday (29th Oct)! :D I think it was a huge success! :D I bet she had a good time… Hor, Jolynn?

So. SJM – Jolynn + JJ + Adrian reached her friend’s place at 7pm…. & we were the only ones there (apart frm the owners of the house). *awkward*… But Jolynn came at 7.30pm so it was just 30 mins of major awkwardness hehe.

& then BBQ!!! There were people in the porch for about… 20mins. & then they all went in – some to watch tv n some went upstairs to prepare for the surprise. So, its only me, Adrian, JJ n Jolynn left to cook n eat. LOL. I think this is the one BBQ that I ate so much till I was so so full. Cus no one else was out, & only us eating LOL.

Bla, watching some tv. (while actually waiting for the people upstairs to finish preparing the surprise)

& then RF smsed us with “blindfold her now!” & we were like O_O we don’t have a cloth! So she ran down w a black tie in her pocket hehe. Pretended to chat w her while everyone watched, & we managed to blindfold her w her unsuspecting.

Had to climb stairs while blindfolded.

The first surprise was our SJM video! :D :D We had photos of us, photos of her + her friends, etc…. & the big surprise was a video of Belle wishing her a happy bday! (coupled with Jess’ awesome music) Made her cry. Hehe.

& then she searched for her presents…! (here’s her w everything she picked out)

Its been 4 (almost 5) weeks of school.

*gasp*

Why is time running so fast again?? Procrastinating nature is taking over me again. I MUST do well this year. Its my last try.

But I’ve handed in my first assignment this year, and I’ll continue to do so for the rest!! I can one!

Anyway! For my birthday this year I’ve gotten some awesome presents. Figured I’d give them some credit.. Of course no.1 will be from my bf…

I love getting necklaces from my loved one, cause idk, it just makes me feel v blissful when I wear it. Haha I’m strange like that. It doesn’t have to be expensive, just pretty (&durable so I can wear everyday) will do. Hehe.

& then SJM made me a scrapbook + super chio hello kitty cut out + a HK bag + vvv chio Swatch watch(which I am learning how to read ‘cos it doesn’t have the 12 dots to mark each hour) +…..

The Nalgene bottle that I wanted but couldn’t find!!!! (even though I got the name wrong on my wishlist hahaha)

(But this bottle sucks cause its damn hard to drink from. WHY LIKE THAT. I am so sad. But I am going to find a way to overcome that.)

ANYWAY! They appeared at 11ish pm on 9th October standing outside Adrian’s place shouting my name. Really gave me a huge shock/surprise!!! Hahah they went over to my place & my mom told them to walk over to my bf’s. HAHAHA. I love you all to bits!!!!!

Halfway through this post I realise I’m damn lazy to take photos! All the pressies are still in their plastic bags n boxes etc!! I haven’t really had the time to go open them up n clear up all the wrapping paper! Hee.

& gf bought me a pink POLAROID!!! So yes I now have a polaroid to take awesome (expensive T_T) photos!

But I hardly ever buy them ‘cos I’m so messy I have nowhere to display. Haha so as of now, its still sitting in the box.. But I’ll pack up n find somewhere nice n safe to put it!

My family. :) Who I’m very thankful for, & they did most of the work for this party. All the pretty balloons were done up by my mom ALONE!!! :) I didn’t help her with it cause I was out buying last min stuff for the bbq!

Boyfriend, who drove me to go buy stuff, and collect my cake. & then helped to cook n do many many things. Hehe.

Sisters, who came late, but came with a hugeeeee hello kitty cut out!! :D

Best male JC friend Desmond + his girlfriend, Josephine. I told him it was okay if he thought it might be weird n didn’t wanna come. Cause I’d only invited a handful of people + very last min. Haha, but he still came.

Here’s my revenge cause I only remembered seeing Jessica’s face hahahaha cause she was the last to strike. xD Showing some love to her.

Yup & that’s the end! I’m still glad that I had a 21st birthday party. At least, I have something to look back upon in future. Although this party was peppered with many failures in planning, its still really nice to look back & realise that I have so many friends who love me enough to come to my party in such a short notice.

Well at least, in future if I need to organise a party, I’d do catering instead of BBQ. BBQ looks simple to plan, but is in fact a disaster waiting to happen. The worst thing that could happen would have been rain (it had been raining everyday before my party), so I’m super blessed that it rained BEFORE, and AFTER my party. :) Prayed so much for good weather & I got it! :)

So… yup! I am now 21. I don’t feel any different, & I still feel like a kid. Just a little bigger in size now. I guess the real difference will kick in when I finally graduate from school! :) Yup, & thank you everyone, for coming to my party n making it awesome.

I’ve tried the products and here’s what I think..

1. Mineral Aqua Gel

It exfoliates all your dead skin off, to make sure you have v clean n healthy skin. + this contains hyaluronic acid which helps to hydrate your skin. Just one pump is enough to cleanse your face. This rubs off into flakes, and these flakes are generally larger than other brands of exfoliators. (not sure if this is good or bad). But I like that it helps to hydrate skin and the nice scent.

2. Mineral Bubble face wash.

Heard a lot about bubble face washes out there, & finally got to try one! Makes me feel cleaner after I’ve used it. Using a bubble face wash is supposed to be better than normal face wash ‘cos its gentler on the skin, and the bubbles being v fine will help to cleanse better! & while making your skin squeaky clean, it provides moisturising also.. I like!

3. Mineral Aqua Whitening Enhancer

Its like a toner, just pat on to skin after cleansing. Will be a little sticky when you first apply it, but after a while (I suppose when your skin absorbs the goodness) the stickiness goes away.

After 2 tries, I’m still loving these products. I think hydrating my skin helps with acne problem too. Not sure how accurate that is, but I think my pimples look better (but that’s just my opinion.) & I’ll continue to use them, for sure!

Planning my 21st.

Never thought that there’d be so many complications to having a simple, small BBQ party.

From initially not wanting to have one, to deciding to have one, and then almost cancelling it, and finally not cancelling it.

The food ordering went rather smoothly.

Cake, not so. I bought a Lychee Martini cake. & right after I paid up my deposit, I had feedback from laojie that she didn’t like it. & then I found out that Adrian doesn’t take Lychee.

& then I tried to call to change the flavour, n it couldn’t be changed.

Okay so. I did nothing about the cake.

& then today arrived, & I haven’t got the food done. Too many things to do, & too little time. Went out after lunch w Adrian to buy the randoms – hot dogs, crab sticks etc from NTUC, & then down to Pine Garden’s to collect my cake. – really glad that the cake turned out pretty.

Mad rush down to home to get everything prepared. Realising that we might have bought too little food, drinks not bought, & everything not set up. & it was 5.30pm. I was feeling horrible.

Around 6.30pm, the fire was getting a bit better, but we didn’t have food tongs. & then I felt really, really bad cause nothing could be done & everyone seemed to be upset. (with me for not planning this out properly).

7plus, people started coming & everything was still not really ready yet. No tongs, not much food cooked, drinks not bought yet. I wanted to crumble n die. So I ran down to the petrol kiosk to get 2 bottles of ILT, (as initially planned – just not THIS late).

I kinda brokedown n cried a little bit somewhere in between cause of the whole pressure & everything not going according to how I’d imagined. I didn’t have time for anything, I was running btw 2 places, people didn’t look too happy, & I was just so tired out. But I got over that pretty soon.

Things started to pick up only at 9ish? & everything started really REALLLYYY late.

I didn’t get to catch up much with everyone though. I guess it’s the same for all parties but I find that such a pity. :(

So cake cutting ended up to be at 10.30pm or some horrible late time like that. Everything finally wrapped up around 11.30pm, and everyone was tired out. Somehow, everything turned out fine in the end & I wasn’t as moody as I was in the beginning. Gotta thank everyone who turned up for the party n made it wonderful. (& Matt n Claudia who were upstairs but didn’t come down cus my planning was horrible)

But I really gotta thank God for the awesome weather. It rained before my party, and after my party. But it was all dry for the entire duration of my party.

Planning a simple BBQ, is not as simple as it seems. Seriously, catering would have been so much better.

3 months till the end of another year.

Yup, & I’m turning 21 in a couple of days. :D :D I struggled with the decision of whether to have a party, or not, or having a mini-party instead.

But that’s decided already now and there’s so many other things to worry about now.

Granny’s in the hospital & I really pray that she gets better soon. That she will completely recover.

On a happier note..

Been going on trekking/walking trips with the bf around Sg! Here’s some random shots I took on one of those days. :)

But then she went under the bench n then puked. 0.0 So I felt really sorry for her n forgave her for scratching my $100 slipper. & then we went to buy food for her!

But she disappeared when we came back to look for her. So now I have a tin of cat food in my kitchen. =.=

Yup & that’s all for now. Psst; bf bought me my b’day pressie already! Hehehehehehehe I am a happy girl tonight.

24th Sept was my gf’s 21st birthday party! (actual day on 26th)

We got there bright n early around 5+ almost 6..

Been gfs with Shamine Wee Shi Yun since JC1! I still remember, she was the girl that never attended orientation, so she practically had no friends in 127 in the beginning. I can’t remember how we started talking, (maybe because I think she v poorthing – got no friend hahahahaha) but I remember that during JC1 we acted like we had glue stuck btw us. We were hardly ever separated. (except for H1 class where she had to go for Chem, n I , Physics. No choice need to separate.) We even got into the same Chinese class (Was grouped according to your capability in Mandarin).

& then we went to Shandong together n shared a room hehehe. & then I saw things I shouldn’t have. But that became an unforgettable memory for us! Hahaha confirm won’t forget. xD I miss the times in Shandong a lot! All those late night talks in our hotel rooms, the cheap neoprints (!!! where else can everyone get a full set of the photos?), the cold cold weather, & spending so much time together!

& then came JC2, where I had to promote to J2 & she in J1. Was v sad that my appeal to retention didn’t get approved. (Although looking back, I’m glad I didn’t retain n waste yet another year) & then we couldn’t be glued together anymore. :( We didn’t meet up so often, didn’t talk so often. But (I think) we’re still emotionally very close.

Even until now, though we hardly ever meet up already. When we do, I don’t feel the remoteness, I don’t feel awkward with her. & I still love her very much. Hehe.

Okay enough mushiness. HAPPY (belated now) 21st birthday gf! Meet up soon for htht okay!

Someone else leaves.

One thing about life – people are always coming and going from your lives.

& as you grow older, more and more people just disappear from your lives, through death.

& its through this sudden departure that makes me realise just how fragile and unpredictable life is. When a baby is born, I marvel at the wonder of a new life. & now, when a friend leaves, I get reminded of the opposite.

Its very scary, and very sad, that someone can just disappear, just like that. Without a sign, without any warning. No one knew, but that’s how life works.

& its only after his sudden departure, that we all get reminded of him. Of how cheerful, how happy, how wonderful he used to be. Used to be.

I guess the consolation is in the fact that we know that he is in a better place now.

Rest in peace, Eddie. Although we only really knew (& had contact with) each other for a short while, although we haven’t talked in a long while, I’ll always remember you.

& I kinda regret not taking photos with my boss n sup. & all my other colleagues. :O & the security guard Phillip who scans me w a metal detector every time I leave the office, & opens the door for me every time I enter!

But anyway, it was fun while it lasted.

I’m quite thankful actually, that I managed to learn stuff there that I wouldn’t otherwise learn. & that I got a job that lets me do many different types of things. Although honestly, sometimes I’m really free…

But it was really nice to be able to work with a friend. Of course,we make friends along the way through work. But its different with a sister who’s been w me for 8 years!!

This job let me experience travelling to work with my bf!! Something that really brightens up my day. ‘cos to travel to my office, I pass by his office!

Even driving past his office n looking at “deutsche bank” already brightens up my day. Haha yea, so easy to please.

Here’s the group of people I have lunch with everyday. from left to right, Jason, who’s accompanied me since 2 days after I joined (but was from a diff department & always so busy), and then Kim Long, who joined barely a month ago, (to take over Jess so he sits right behind me & talks to me most cause he sat just behind me haha), & Bryan who joined slightly after Jason. Haha. We’re all doing different things, but still manage to come together for lunch (almost) daily.

& May who goes home w me n Ben on some days.

Its really an experience I wouldn’t trade.

Well one good thing about not working is… Its 4.30am on a Thursday & I don’t have to worry about waking up at 6am.

Bf took leave for Thurs & Fri though, so I’m really looking forward to that! Goodnight (or morning)!!

I LOVE BABIES!!!! Hehehehe. First this yr was Eleora (Adrian’s niece), which was very amazing to me already. & now Si En!

Plus both also baby girls. Even better. Hahah.

I want to buy baby clothes + toys + everything for her! Hahaha. I wanna watch her grow up bit by bit. ^^

Looking at a newborn just makes me feel so happy! Hehehe. Life is amazing.

Went to buy my fitflops with Jess n RF (last month hahahaha) FINALLY! Had lusted for a pair since some time ago, but finally made the decision to spend that 100+ bucks!

This is the pair that I lusted for! (Took this photo in Nex’s Isetan so I rmb what I want!)

RF got us discounts, so we went down to Holland V to buy! & coincidentally enough, I had a facial appt at HV too! & this being my 2nd visit to HV, I was super unfamiliar w the place + me being a complete directional idiot doesn’t help too.

So, when I saw my facial place, I quickly took a shot before continuing to find RF & the fitflop shop! &……

WHAT ARE THE ODDS??? HAHA RF was standing right in my frame as I took that location shot! & Jess called her right after that shot was taken to ask her where she was! Hehe.

The fit flops was a good buy imo. I LOVE THEM! They’re super comfy to wear + supposedly can tone up ur bottom half.

Jess n I got the same pair! (Don’t have a photo of the 3 of our feet w fitflops! )

BF’s mummy saw my pair & made bf buy her a pair too. Hahahaha $$ fly away for him. He also tried on a pair & is convinced at how comfy it is, just not convinced enough to spend 100+ on a pair of slippers (That’s not very hardy). We’ll see how things go. Saw another pair of sandals just ytd that the bf might like better. (More expensive than fit flops, but definitely more hardy.)

But meanwhile, I’m enjoying wearing my fitflops out!

So fast, Year 3 is arriving, & I think, in another blink, I'll be out searching for a full-time job.

FREAKS ME OUT. O___O

Like, really.

Cannot imagine looking for a proper job, going for scary interviews & actually working for the rest of my life. Imagine, doing the same thing every single day for the next 40(?) years. O______O.

Oh well.

I shall enjoy what’s left of my holidays. Gonna be working all the way till school starts which kinda sucks, but I want the $$$!!!! Hahaha. Hoping to go somewhere with the BF before sch starts, but we’ve been procrastinating so much, it’s a little rushed now. I really really hope that he’d be able to take leave + get us our flight tickets! *sigh.

Its so hard to find time to really blog now. A wordy post is fine, but I haven’t had the time to sort out my photos!

Just spent 1.5 weeks working with Jessica sitting next to me… & I’m so going to miss that. I hope the new guy/girl that comes in will be at least around my age + nice n can click w me. Pretty please…?

Everything else is not bad too.. So… I’m a happy girl! Gonna finally cut my fringe tmrw! Its growing longggg & I’ve gotten addicted to short fringe.

Had a really eventful weekend this week!

We got up bright n early, n left house earlier than usual! & THE BF DROVE!!!!! Somebody say yay! Haha. Its been so so so long since he last drove ok.

So we got up bright n early to…. LOOK FOR BAK KUT TEH !!!

The soup was salty n yummy! n the coffee shop was packed full w people all eating bak kut teh !!! Haha n duck rice (had a really long queue too). Which is why there’s almost no place to park n we had a hard time there. Oh, but we asked for a top up of soup, & it was bland n not that nice anymore BUT, overall still yums!!

ANW! This is how the shop looks like..

& its at BLK 22 Sin Ming Road. The coffee shop right at the end. (there’s a couple there. But this is the only one that’s so buzzing.)

Headed down to Ikea after BKT!!!!!

Chilling on a sofa n camwhoring as if its our own living room. (Plus hugging a cushion which I eventually bought)

We stayed at Ikea for a good THREE HOURS. n bought some random stuff too!

& then off to service…

Which was SO PACKED WITH PEOPLE!!! & (almost) everyone was dressed up for the “come together” theme! Haha quite interesting. Its like, people with face paint, or people dressed up with wings, etc. Sounds a bit like halloween eh. xD

Svc ended at like.. erm k I dunno what time I think 8.30pm. & then we headed down to chomps for dinner!!! Hehehe stingray n chicken wings yummmm.

& after the mega eventful Saturday, it was home sweet home n sleepy time!

Sunday saw me dragging myself up at 10am n forgoing breakfast plans w bf. Too much activity on Saturday leaves us sleeping @ home on Sunday!

& then headed down to Nex for dinner! Ended up eating bread from four leaves n some dimsum from Hokee (Which had a mini roach running abt on our table. Mega gross.) Followed by Sushi Tei for ice cream n sushi for bf! I didn’t order my fave frm sushi tei cause I was too full from bread n dimsum n bubble tea But bf’s fave is still yums!

&… That’s my eventful weekend. (K more like happening Saturday n Chill out Sunday) n now its sleepy time n back to work tomorrow. Its way past my bedtime n I know I’m gna regret tomorrow. T_T OH OH one more thing. Bf said… that I really put on quite a bit of weight. *cries n kicks up a fuss* I shall go on a fruit diet from tomorrow on! Goodnight!

Didn’t have time to blog, at all!

Cause of work work work!!!

So anyway, here I am, gna do up a mini photo-post to show you what had been going on!

Here’s me on my… 2nd day at work, I think. Haha.

& then my very first paper cut at work. Was quite painful n now I have a mini scar T____T

& I tried eating sandwiches to save money….. & my mom was really nice & made me ham n cheese sandwiches to bring to work!

I dislike white bread so I went to buy a diff kind – butter bread. (was $2.60 so not rly saving money –.-) Haha. But this was much nicer. Yumm.

& I kept that up for…… 4 days. Hahahaha. I think bread makes me fat so I stopped eating bread & decided on going to the canteen since it wasn’t really that expensive if I eat at the canteen!

& sojubang w SJM + Adrian… No photos of the girls cus I didn’t have a decent one on my phone, & I’m too lazy to rob off facebook.

This is my bf’s favourite. He never fails to order this every time we go into sushi tei. (not like we go v often anyway)

& ramen at…. Taka….? I can’t remember sheesh. After service. Haha. We were really really hungry, & this ramen tasted heavenly! But after we were halfway through it started being a bit too much. that’s what I don’t like about ramen. Always tastes wonderful initially, but horrible towards the end.

BATAM PART 3.

Okay, here’s the 3rd, and FINAL part of my very short 2 day trip to Batam. Haha, 2 day trip I can still drag for 3 posts. The Batam memory is alr a bit fuzzy considering its been like, more than half a mth. So here’s what I can remember…

GOOD MORNING, BATAM!

Went for breakfast & the spread was meh. Plus me being the super picky eater I was… This was all I cound eat. (Ate up 2 small pancakes before I took this photo haha, but its still a really sad breakfast!)

Went back to the room after breakfast to get ready to check out!

I’d wanted to take photos from the balcony cus of the pool view! So pretty! So we took a quick one, cause we were late!

Oh by the way, the pool looks really nice & clean & you wanna jump in & take a dip right?? I guess… It’d be ok if you simply took a dip. Don’t try to swim like I did with the bf. ‘cause the water’s not as clean as it looks, & when you swim… Vision’s only about 1m! Got a bit grossed out aft a few laps & went back up to change lol. (Imagine dipping your face in water that’s murky! Eew.)

Here’s me all ready to check out already! Okay, can’t really see from this pict, but I have my backpack behind me also! So I was like carrying 3 bags of stuff!

& then he headed down to ESKA Wellness Spa, as recommended by Jessica! I wanted to go there ‘cos Jess said they had massages for like $20 plus only! Where to find!! Ok, they did have massages for 20 plus, but you don’t get a couple room for that! So we decided to get the couple package (I cannot remember how much alr I think like $150 for 2 or sth.)

The room’s obviously a lot a lot smaller than the hotel’s one, & a lot more sparse. The hotel’s bubble bathtub was huge & 2 of us could fit in comfortably. This one was a tad small & kinda squeezy. We basically just soaked a little & got changed alr lol.

I thought the massage was not bad, maybe even better than the hotel’s. But my bf had a different story to tell. So… I think it depends on your luck, on which masseuse you get!

Well my bf couldn’t really get over the whole horrible start to the trip & I think he didn’t really have as much fun as I did. Oh well.

BATAM TRIP! Part 2.

Read Part 1 first if you haven’t already! All about our unfortunate start to a weekend getaway!

From here on things alr took a turn for the better!

Its been so long since I've had to many photos to upload! :P

So, after all the waiting was done (things were much better n we even managed a quick shower), we took the shuttle bus down to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall! :)

First thing has got to be lunch ‘cos both of us were so hungry! It was about 2pm Batam time, which was 3pm SG time!

After that, we walked around the mall. Nothing much to shop, really. Unless you’re into fake branded bags (or shoes or wallets or whtv), they have tons of those there. Checked out the massage place Jess recommended us too! (& booked an appointment for the next morn!)

& then we had a spa (from the hotel) arranged at 630pm, so we had to rush! This photo was taken while we waited for the lift & sprinted to the hotel spa area! Haha.

I honestly think massages/spas are only nice when its like a couple room, when u have someone else w u. (But I haven’t tried any alone so.. I dun really know haha.)

Didn’t take any photos before, so here’s some after. We kinda made a mess so… ya. Hahah but the room was nice & big! :) They had couple rooms “outside” also, which is just covered with flimsy semi-see-through blinds. So thank goodness we didn’t get that.

HAHA our bubble bath which obviously had too much bubble n overflowed EVERYWHERE.

Bed thingy I don’t know for what. We didn’t use it @ all throughout!

& us after massage/spa & waiting for free pizza! (sleepy @10pm alr)

Back to the hotel…

These photos remind me of bkk! Haha we bought fastfood back for dinner again!

& kueh lapis that cost about S$9 for half a cake. Which is MUCH cheaper than SG’s. & its really fragrant!

& u can see my bf here, looking mega tired already. Hahah (& I was still forcing him to camwhore w me.)

After getting rejected later…. Nvm, I take myself! (took abt 20 photos or sth aft that)

BATAM! part 1

Went for a short getaway trip with the bf to Batam! We stayed in Harris Resort, which wasn’t really the best choice. :(

I’d been anticipating this trip since we booked it!

Okay I’m going to split this post into 2 parts, cause I’ve got so many photos to share!! :) This trip awakened my camwhoring nature that has been asleep for so long already! Wheee. :)

Camwhoring in daddy’s cab otw to Harbourfront!

Gingin all strapped tightly, cus daddy n Adrian thought I’d leave him somewhere n forget about him!

But it was like, series of unfortunate events from the moment we reached Harbourfront!

First, we went to collect our ferry tickets, & got informed that our ferry departs at 10am, instead of 9am as planned. (which means that we’d miss the first shuttle to town!) That made my bf grumpy already. So, since we were so early (reached at 7.50am), and had an hour to spare, we went to mcdonald’s for breakfast.

I ordered Mcgriddles since I didn’t want to special order a sausage mcmuffin + I wanted to try Mcgriddles. If you know me, (or read my blog long enough), you’d know that eggs are my no.1 enemy! & the lady that took my order keyed in Mcgriddles WITH EGG, instead of just Mcgriddles.

Which resulted in us paying more, for something I hate so much. Eww. I kicked up a mini tantrum cause I really really REALLY hate eggs. :( & bf said I’m like a kid. I almost refused to eat it, n bf offered to buy 1 more. But I was brave n just removed that horrible piece of egg. :( & so that was unfortunate no.2.

We went to board the ferry, & unfortunately, sat in the middle of a huge family(10 people), who were talking loudly THROUGHOUT the entire 1 hour ferry ride. Was really going crazy.

& then we reached Batam ferry terminal……

Only to realise that practically the whole ferry load, was headed to Harris. That wouldn’t have been so bad, if they had catered enough buses. So they didn’t, and we had to queue & squeeze & wait. I think we boarded the 4th bus there. If that wasn’t bad enough, when we reached Harris, the lobby was filled with people & again, we had to squeeze n queue to register & get our room cards.

So, we queued n queued n queued, only to be informed that we couldn’t get an early check in, & their check in was at 2pm. =_______________= Went bowling to kill time & I managed a 70+! Haha, eh, very proud of myself already cause I’ve never bowled since erm 6 years old or sth!

So, after all the unfortunate events, (already finished bowling & stoned until cannot stone alr) Adrian was super ultra mega grumpy alr, and I was like God, pls, let everything run smoothly from here.

& poof, we got our rooms at 1.40pm, took a quick shower & boarded the bus to Nagoya Hill Shopping mall! :) Heheh.

& that’s the end of our series of unfortunate events, fortunately!

HAPPY 21st, Jessica!

3rd July was Jessica’s birthday!

& for all the 1990 babies, this year is significant, cause we all turn 21! Although I think we feel more impact at 20 when we’re no longer a “teen”, its still like super significant. Hahah. :D

So obviously, we (SJM) would have something super awesome planned for her! Okay *hides face* it wasn’t really SUPER awesome, but I think it should still be memorable for her! & we did put in effort okay, although it didn’t turn out to be a super success. Hehehe.

I didn’t really take much photos w my cam so.. We’ll wait for Jess’ cam!

For her birthday, we made her a card, & sent her on a wild goose chase. Basically, all we wanted to do was to decorate up her room. So, we needed her out of the house…

Jolynn came up with this “game” thingy, sorta amazing race type. She’s given a set of clues, which will lead her to our final meeting place for dinner. (which is actually her house *evil laugh*)

So at around 4plus, I braved the danger & walked over to her place to put the *clues* into her letter box. (she stays in a private house so letter box = right at her door ok! High risk operation! & I came out unscathed & undiscovered wahaha)

& then at 5 plus, Jolynn & I camped at the 2 bus stops nearer to her house, to make sure she’s out before we go to the place! (meanwhile, we already informed her sister n maid who were very VERY cooperative hahaha) Just before Jess left, Erica called RF to tell her she was leaving alr!

Was really really thirsty by the time we got to her house. (lots of running around n climbing stairs =.=), so Jess’ maid was a lifesaver when she offered us drinks!! (which we didn’t drink cause too busy rushing arnd jess’ room! See the cup on the right, ice all melted alr)

Anyway! We blew balloons (super tiring), & stuck up deco!

We only sent Jess to Serangoon’s Nex mall, & kinda thought that she’d come back really fast. But nope, after rushing through everything, we still had time to chit chat, lie on her bed & chill. Lol.

When Jess finally solved the puzzle, she was like “holy shit….” Hahahahaha. xD

Acnes Medicated Skincare

I have been plagued with Acne since primary school. Ikr, fml. So being stuck with this, I’ve tried a lot, a lot of acne medication! & none of them seem to work. :( I've tried Oxy, T3, Clearasil, some other brands I can’t remember right now, and doctor’s prescriptions! & I am STILL plagued with pimple problems.

So, when I got free Acnes stuff to try, of course must grab right? Its free anyway! & I haven’t tried it yet!

Okay my pimple situation now is really a lot better than last year already. Was having a really bad outbreak for the WHOLE of last year. :( It was really super ultra bad. But anyway! Not that bad, means still got pimples! Why can’t I have super good skin? HUH HUH?? :(

(honestly I camwhored so much more than just these 2 not even 1/2 face shots. But they didn’t turn out nice cause completely barefaced + after a long day @ work! Hahahaha)

I think it looks slightly better. Can’t say like “wow, my pimples are ALL GONE”, but I can say “it seems to be working”! :) I’m very skeptical about acne products already, given that I’ve tried so many and am still plagued with it! But I’ll continue using Acnes & hopefully it’d work its miracle on me! :)

I got a job I got a job I got a job *chants*!!!

I seriously kinda thought that I’d be spending my holidays slacking away again. But no!!! Thank god!!!! I got a job!! Which means $$ will be coming in real soon.

Well this means goodbye to late nights & late morning(afternoon)s. I’ve been sleeping at 4am and waking up at 1pm everyday! (hahaha yeah a lot of sleep I knw) & now I have to change it to sleeping at.. 12am and waking at 640am! But it’d be good for my body n complexion, so yay!

The pay’s not very high, and the location’s really far. Those are real downs. But I have zero experience & this will give me some! & beggars can’t be choosers, so, I cannot be picky! I can only say, thank god for the job! & pray that everything will turn out okay. (:

Camwhoring in the bus omw home! My face is like this but inside I’m smiling like super widely cause I’m excited that I actually got the job! When I heard that there’ll be other people interviewing with me I was like super demoralized but anyway that’s over n I got it yay! :)

& something random – mummy washed my Kelly! So she’s finally like, back to her original colour! She was starting to look a little (quite a lot actually) blackish, & really crummy. Hahah. Now she’s so soft n nice & pretty. :D

Sunday (26th June) was my bf’s birthday! 2nd time I’m celebrating w him alr yay. I didn’t have anything special planned, so we just headed to Plaza Sing to have lunch + walk around a bit. (: Had lunch at this Ramen place (can’t remember the name), but the ramen was pretty nice! Could be because we were both starving by the time the food came, though. xD Had a side order of gyozas which I found really nice.

I didn’t take photos of the ramen ‘cause we were too hungry & tucked in before I remembered to take a shot. Heh. So all I have is this half eaten bowl of Spicy Ramen!

& then bf wanted to try Itacho Sushi. So we went in for a few. (After walking around PS for some time cus the lunch was too filling haha) All the raw food is my bf’s cus I don’t eat raw food! Haha.

Lobster and Salmon Sushi (was on 50% sale, I think $3.80 for 2.) Bf said this wasn’t too nice, just cheap.

& Unagi is my all time fave. (& it was really nice!) & the grilled pork sushi(the one on the left) is our deal of the day! We didn’t order it but the waitress keyed it in wrongly. So here it is, & we checked the price, only $1! We ordered 2 more after. Both the Unagi & Grilled Pork were pretty yummy!

Scallop & Surf clam. Bf says: “Not bad.”

1 more serving of Lobster & Salmon sushi! (cheap.)

I made him a card for his birthday (as usual), & gave it to him on Sunday morning. & a while later, he’d already read my card!! *frown* I don’t like people reading what I write when I’m still around them!! Arghhh.

He went to take a shower & I was chilling in his sister’s room. So, after he came out of the shower n took really long in his room, I decided to go over to see. & then he cheekily opened my envelope (I was like “U can only look @ the cover ok, don’t read it”), & showed me my card, with the pictures already taken out! I bet my face was like (O_____________O), utter disbelief when I realised what happened! Hahaha.

Oh, & I made jellies for him cus he likes them! & he said its nice!!! Hehehehe. & when he found out it only took 10mins to make each batch he was like “CHEY”. ) But nvm, still happy tt he found my jellies not only edible, but actually, nice! (: (: (:

Getting more excited as the weekend draws nearer! Its darling’s birthday weekend! Yaaay. Although we wouldn’t be doing anything special… Its still nice. Haha, maybe we’ll go out for dinner or something, we’ll see how things go.

I’m bad at planning surprises or events or whatever. So… I never do it. Although I toy around with the idea a lot. Like, planning a nice picnic. Or, bringing him to go for some really nice dinner. Or anything. But I never get down to doing it, & I usually just end up doing up a card n maybe add in something sweet. Oh well.

We’re heading down to Batam next weekend & I am super duper excited for it y’knw!! Hahahaha. Although its nowhere super amazing like Europe or Japan or Korea, its still awesome cus it’s just us! I’m super looking forward to it. Like, just chilling & enjoying each other’s company, & to be immersed into a world that contains only the two of us. Wheeee. ((:

So. I’ve been trying not to shop, by cooping myself at home & not going out. & I do my best not to online shop, although I browse a lot a lot these days. I see so many things that I wanna buy, but I evaluate & evaluate & eventually convince myself that I do not need to buy those items. ): Well, I’ve been going to Xquisis (my super favourite place to buy shoes) a lot these days. (At least twice a day) & I keep looking at the shoes that are beckoning me to purchase them! Maybe I’ll eventually succumb to temptation. ): Arghhhhh. Hate being broke, but not doing anything about it.

Okay, not really not doing anything at all about it. I’m working for my mom for some balloon event(yay). But its only a 2 day stint, so I don’t really get that much outta it. But still, better than nothing right! I seriously can’t wait for the jobs to be over & for the money to come into my pockets. But that’s only next month. Arghhh. Moneyyyyyy. $$$$. I need to find a money tree. *shake shake shake*

1.5 years old!

We’re 1.5 years old today!

Hehehe no idea why I am so happy actually. Its nothing much, just 1.5 yrs but still!

Love love love max! Hahahaha. n bf’s birthday coming in a couple of days! Wheeeee. Haha.

No really, I have no idea why I am so excited about this. T_T

Heart-shaped bruise that I have now, on my left thigh. BF discovered it! I didn’t even know of its existence! Haha.

Okay. Anyway! Met up with py yesterday to shop! (More like window shop cus I didn’t manage to buy anything) But am glad that we managed to like pick up where we left off n things weren’t awkward despite us not meeting for so-super-damn-long-I-cannot-even-remember-already. I think that’s the thing about people you’ve known for a long long long long time (& were close to at that point in time).

Anyway! I bought Bugis’ Chewy Junior to try! & although it was better than the City Hall one, its still not fantastic :/

& I wore cute earrings out! Bought this pair when I went to BKK w the bf last year! Hehehe.

This weekend’s more happening than usual. Haha, not like a lot has happened though. I’ve just been too accustomed to having lazy weekends just lazing around at home(bf’s or mine) the whole day. So anyway, its Father’s Day weekend! So on Saturday, I went to the bf’s place as usual in the day, & then joined my family for dinner at Changi Village!

I didn’t take photos of all the food (in fact only have one), cause they didn’t look all that special. So anyway! we ordered XLBs n they came in these little aluminum cups. Thought it was really cute and such a wonderful idea initially, but I prefer the dintaifung’s normal XLBs actually. The tiny cup made it much easier to break open the skin while trying to pry the XLB loose . Oh well. Still tasted yummy anyway ($3.50 for 3 pieces, not really tt cheap.)

We ordered some other dimsum which was really good, & black pepper crab! Yummy! But $51 for the crab. I was like O___O when I saw the bill. So expensive!!! Hmph.

& that was my Father’s day weekend.

Since we couldn’t make it for svc on Sat cus I had my family dinner, we agreed to go on Sunday (today)! We don’t usually go for Sunday svc cause its at 10am (which is v early for our standards), but we made an exception this weekend haha.

& Yuki Yaki steamboat buffet for lunch! I don’t like buffets cause I think it’s a waste of money for me to be there. Cause I cannot eat that much meat stuff. & I get full v easily @ buffet places somehow. So I’ll never, ever get my money’s worth. Not even close. But bf likes it so, in there we went! I didn’t bother to try stuffing myself with food cause I don’t see the point haha.

Came back home, & had to prepare to go for bf’s cousin’s wedding dinner! Haha super rushed. But the dinner had yummy food. Some selfshots w the bf.

& then here I am feeling v sleepy cause of the obvious lack of sleep! (Had to wake up at 830am!! n I slept at 4ish the last night ) Looking forward to a chill day tomorrow!

ps; my bf, Mr Adrian Quek’s birthday is coming soon (next week)!!!!! & I dunno what to do for him!! Ahhhhhhh! I’m a horrible gf

I’m having my holidays!! Doesn’t that mean that I should be either working my ass off to earn money for overseas trips with friends, or going out n have the time of my life?

But here I am at home for the past week, 2 weeks? Not doing anything.

Basically, I wake up around 9am, and allow myself to fall back asleep. When I am wide awake at maybe 11am, I refuse to get out of bed, and play with my iPhone.

I will go n visit my zoo in Tap Zoo, collect my revenue n pick up some trash.

& then I’ll go catch some fish on fishing joy.

& then let a piggy roll on Pig Shot..

& check twitter and facebook.

& finally, I click on iBooks and immerse myself into the world of one of Jodi Picoult’s books.

I have finished reading The Pact and Vanishing Acts. I was almost done with House Rules when I realised the ebook screwed up at the end, so I am not done with that yet.

I am currently reading My Sister’s Keeper, a story which I’ve already seen in the movies. & that movie made me cry. I heard the book’s nicer though.

& I continue reading until my mother screams at me for lunch.

I shout back at her to give me 30 mins, where I wash up and take a shower.

I have my lunch.

& then its back to the world of Jodi Picoult’s book, until its time for me to go over to bf’s place, where I just cuddle with him and continue reading her book.

I think my eyesight is going to suffer real badly, but I don’t really care now.

So, this is my life for you now. Majority of the day spent in bed, reading Jodi Picoult’s book off my iPhone.

Broke as ever, so I don’t wanna go out and spend money. So.. I guess this is the next alternative till I get a job.

Swimming

Swim, swim, swim.

I’ve been swimming for the past 3 days consecutively, including today. & guess what, I’m going to swim again tomorrow, with my family! Although I don’t swim much each time, its still nice to go soak in the water and just fool around with my brother.

I remember when I was in Sec 1/2, I used to go swimming every Monday. Sometimes I really didn’t feel like going to swim, cause it was tiring. We had to do laps, learn new strokes, swim & swim & swim. But now, I really miss those days, where I swam with my cousin. With both of us whining at how many laps we had to do. With Uncle Green standing at the pool side saying “don’t wait, continue!” & the both of us groaning when he said “30 laps, go!”

I miss having stamina. I swim 2 laps now (1 length is considered 1 lap) & I’m like omg I am going to drown if I go for 1 more lap. I miss competing with my cousin, where we’d sprint across a breadth of the medium pool.

I miss the after-swimming food sessions too. Where he would treat us to chicken wings and mee siam. & he’d always say, “eat for fun only lah!”

I miss Uncle Green too, actually. I can still remember him so vividly in my head. I can see him standing at the poolside, I can see him showing off his butterfly, and flying across the length of the deep pool effortlessly. I can see him standing next to me showing me how to butterfly kick. (& me failing quite badly.) Butterfly, that was the last stroke he taught us. But we’d only learnt till the kick, & a bit of the hands.

I remember the special days where Uncle Green would bring his wife & baby Felicia (I think about 1 year old then) down to the pool too. Then we’d swim lesser and play with Felicia more. I remember the details to the point that Felicia wore an orange swim suit then. She was a chubby little girl n she was almost always laughing.

I can’t remember why we stopped swimming already, too. But I wish we didn’t. & I kinda wish that we could still go swimming every Monday & swim & swim & swim.

Okay. I totally didn’t expect to remember so many things & type it all out. All I intended to do was to talk about swimming consecutively for 4 days! Haha, amazing how the mind works. & now I end up feeling kinda sad, emotional.

Life goes on, its been 4 years since he left us. But honestly, it still doesn’t feel like he’s really gone. It just feels like.. “Hmm, I just haven’t seen him in a long while.”

I miss going to ur place for curry on Christmas, Uncle Green.

& I am still rotting my life away. Again. T_____T Should I just give up on looking for an office job & go do retail or something??? Argh. The thought that all these time is flying away from me & here I am still sitting at home everyday. Sighhhh.

I ruined the manicure I did w SJM the other day in town, the very next day. T_T Managed to scratch a part off accidentally. (& I scratched it again ytd, so now it has two scratches instead of one) I’m such a manicure killer.

Anyway, on to happier stuff.

Sunday (5th June)

Went to 老甜婆 – Sugar Granny Café- with bf cause he’s been wanting to try their boneless chicken wings(since he tried it once when Matthew brought some over to his hse)!

I loved how the place looked! It was this old school décor. Plus it was quiet when we went, so the ambience was really nice, with (awesome) soft music playing in the background.

& our chicken wings arrive! Can’t wait to tuck in. But it came really hot, so we let it cool off for a while before tucking in!

& then our other dishes arrived! We ordered 4 Chicken Wings, Milky buns, and Fried fish balls.

Lets start with the chicken wings. I thought it was really nice, especially so since its boneless, so it was a breeze to eat. Its very fried, so you’ll feel a little sick (腻) of all the flour + oil if you eat too much. I think 2 is just nice. (plus u might get sore throat!)

& then the fish balls are the absolute yum! I really really loved the fish balls, dipped in the very yummy chili. Its just a little saucer of normal looking chili, but its really really yummy. (quite spicy, but just enough spiciness to make it so yummy!!)

I thought the buns were… normal though. Came with condensed milk(I think), & since I’m not a fan of milk, so I just ate the buns alone. It wasn’t bad, still pretty nice, just, kinda normal. If you get what I mean. Haha.

Although these don’t look like much, we’re thankful we only ordered these. Cause we were both really full when we left the place!

& then trained down to City Hall cause I wanted to buy Chewy Junior cream puffs! Been wanting to try them since Karista bought some when we met last Thurs. So… here they are!

They look really good, but I was a little disappointed with the pastry. Felt a bit like.. They’ve been kept overnight. Oh well, I wanna try the Bugis’ one, to see if the texture’s the same! Tastes nice though.

Initially bought these for bf’s sister n her family! But Matthew replied that they don’t eat cream puffs after I bought them! So…. I brought these home to share the love with my family instead! Haha.

Headed down to their (Claudia + Matthew’s) place after the whole morning out w bf on Sunday for dinner. & they cooked fried rice instead of plain rice! (people who know me well enough should know by now, that I don’t eat eggs!) I was staring at the rice wondering what to do. Haha. Thankfully, bf saw & reminded Matthew! (: So I ended up having instant noodles in place of rice, which I was very happy with. x) They had Swedish meatballs from Ikea too! (Which I didn’t dare to try – I tried it once with korkor, but somehow didn’t dare to try it again this time! Shucks, I should really start trying new stuff haha.)

& that concludes my very eventful Sunday!

Bubble tea

I’d wanted to blog about this a while back already haha. So finally, I have no material today. So… Yup!

This, is my favourite drink. Hazelnut Milk Tea. with Roselle Pearls. Mmm yum.

Koi’s ice cream milk tea comes up second, but the queue often puts me off.

I heard from one of my friends (cannot remember who) that milk tea isn’t good cause it uses milk essence, which can cause cancer & what not. But I didn’t think much about it, until that day I casually mentioned to bf about this, with our milk tea in front of us.

We decided to do a little googling, & to our horror, the milk essence thing is true!! (based on whatever we found on google ok)

Milk essence is the main ingredient in bubble tea. Ten cups of fresh milk cannot match the taste of a teaspoon of milk essence. The main ingredient of milk essence is hygrogenated vegetable oil, a type of transfat. Experts says that a glass of 500ml of bubble tea a day far exceed the allowable limit of transfat for any person. It will lead to heart and blood vessel diseases.
Milk essence gives the bubble tea the fragrance and make it tasty. The fragrance and tastiness derived from a type of chemical. This chemical has trace of arsenic, lead, copper and many harmful minerals.
Long term consumption can lead to heart and blood vessel disease, cancer, asthma and other health complications. It reduces the IQ of children.
